The story

The psychosocial side of matric support

Woza Matrics is the Department of Basic Education’s programme of free catch-up, revision and exam-preparation lessons for Grade 12 learners, broadcast on television and radio and available on digital and streaming platforms, including YouTube.

Alongside the subject lessons, the programme includes psychosocial support — and that is where Kutitiva comes in. Working with 2Enable, Kutitiva developed and presented eight short psychosocial learning videos. They have been on the Woza Matric channel permanently as a learner resource since 2019, cycling throughout the day between the STEM subject lessons.

The video format lets Kutitiva’s guidance reach learners far beyond the schools where our facilitators can be physically present: in homes, in rural and urban communities, in every province.
